RwandAir welcomes its second Boeing 737-500 aircraft and launches additional flights to Jo’burg. Expanding Rwandan national carrier,
Rwandair Express, has recently purchased its second aircraft, a Boeing 737-500, with 102 seats, 12 business class and 90 economy.
The new aircraft will allow the airline to extend its services within the Great Lakes sub-region and add major destinations, in the Middle East.
Rwandair is now looking to compete on equal terms with other National Carriers from the same region, like Kenya Airways and Ethiopian Airlines, who fly from Rwanda to many European, North American and South Asian countries.
In addition,
Rwandair is now able to offer additional frequencies on one of its most important routes. From 26th August 2010, the airline will operate five weekly flights between Kigali (Rwanda) and Johannesburg (South Africa) to the following schedule (all times local).
